Opal Fossils

Coober Pedy in South Australia is home to some of the most incredible fossils in the world such as sea shells and belemnite pipes. In very unique cases, these fossils can become opalised with truly amazing colour! Belemnite pipes can be described as the backbone of an ancient ancestor of the cuttlefish.
